Endovascular, minimally invasive, approach to managing vascular disease
Mr Dowdall was appointed to the staff of Waterford Regional Hospital in 2010 and subsequently to St Vincent’s Healthcare Group in 2013. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers in surgery, numerous abstracts and has authored five book chapters on vascular topics. He has a special interest in the endovascular (minimally invasive) approach to managing vascular disease.
Mr Dowdall spent a year in research in the surgical laboratory in RCSI / Beaumont Hospital, where he completed an MD thesis. He did his higher surgical training in St Vincent’s, Galway University, Tallaght, St James’s and The Mater Hospitals. He went on to do a fellowship in endovascular surgery in the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr Dowdall qualified from UCD in 1995. He interned in St Vincent’s Hospital and did his basic surgical training in Galway, after which he was conferred with Fellowship of RCSI.
