Diagnostic breast imaging is performed when further investigation is required because of breast symptoms, a clinical finding or an abnormality identified on previous imaging. You will be booked into the Maple Centre on a clinic day for breast imaging.
Depending on your individual circumstances and referral, your appointment may include:
- Tomosynthesis Mammography
- Breast Ultrasound
- Further assessment of an area of concern
- Image-guided needle biopsy / aspiration, if clinically indicated
Not every patient will require all these investigations. Your examination will be tailored to your clinical needs and any further investigations will be explained to you by the clinical team.
