Radiology
Routine mammogram 3 to 4 weeks wait time
The mammogram is performed by a radiographer and the Images are reported by a breast radiologist.
The service has recently been updated to include Tomo Synthesis which provides 3D imaging of the breasts.
The Maple Centre is a separate area of radiology and provides a private, more intimate area for patients, having their mammogram
We ask the patients to undress and provide them with a gown and a basket to keep their personal belongings with them. The service is very efficient and waiting times are very short as we have 2 mammograms rooms.
The procedure involves taking 4 images of the breast tissue in different positions.
Both breasts will be imaged, if this is the first mammogram.
The patient will be asked to re dress and results will be sent to the referring Doctor
The preferred method of referral is via Healthlink. Email and fax referrals are also accepted.
