About testes treatment options

Radical Orchidectomy - This operation involves removal of your testicle, through an incision in the groin. This procedure is done for suspected testicular cancer. Prior to surgery you can discuss a testicular implant (prosthesis) with your consultant. Removal of the testicle may be all that is required if cancer is found, but chemotherapy or radiotherapy are sometimes also needed.

Hydrocele Repair  - A hydrocele is a collection of innocent fluid around the testicle that does not need treatment if it is small or causes no significant symptoms. For larger or symptomatic hydroceles, surgery is recommended. Hydrocele repair involves removal of the fluid and associated sac surrounding your testicle which prevents further fluid developing. After hydrocele surgery, the affected testicle will feel “bulkier” compared to the other testicle.

Removal of Epidydimal Cyst – this involves removal of a fluid-filled collection from the epididymis (sperm-carrying tubes) alongside your testicle. Epidydimal cysts are quite common and do not require intervention if they are small or are not causing significant symptoms.
