Bio
Dr Ryan studied Medicine at University College Cork and graduated in 2004. She completed her General Professional Training in General (Internal) Medicine at Cork University Hospital in 2007. She was awarded a National Training Number in Dermatology in South East London in 2009 and trained at the Royal London & Royal Free Hospitals.
Dr Ryan has an interest in medical therapeutics & complex medical dermatology. She undertook a year-long Medical Dermatology Fellowship (treating severe psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa, and blistering skin disease) at St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2012. She completed her higher specialist training in 2014 & was appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2015. She led the Biologics Service for patients with severe inflammatory skin disease at King’s College Hospital & was clinical lead for the South Sites. Dr Ryan returned to Ireland in 2020.
Dr Ryan consults on all aspects of adult dermatology including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), mole checks, and skin cancer. Dr. Ryan does not undertake medicolegal or cosmetic work.
Referrals
Dr Ryan maintains a short waiting list (< 12 weeks). To safely balance capacity & demand, she accepts no more than 15 new patient referrals per week. Referrals must be sent directly by the referring doctor to the eReferrals Team at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital via Healthlink or email to ereferrals@svph.ie. Referrals sent by other routes (including those emailed by patients) will be returned. This is to ensure safe tracking of referrals & equitable access. Dr Ryan sees adult patients only (minimum age 18 years).
