Education and Experience
Dr McSorley obtained her medical degree from RCSI and completed Higher Specialist Training in Medical Oncology through the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2019. She subsequently completed advanced fellowship training in Melbourne, Australia at the prestigious Monash Health cancer research facility. She returned to Ireland in 2023.
Dr McSorley is committed to delivering expert patient-centred care to women affected by gynaecological malignancy and to providing a comprehensive, dedicated cancer genetics service. She believes in the value of continuous education and holds postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Research, Cancer Genetics, and Clinical Education. On a national level Dr McSorley is actively engaged with the NCCP (National Cancer Control Programme) to broaden access to cancer genetic testing in Ireland, and is deputy Chair of the NCCP Working Group to implement Hereditary Cancer Networked Services. She is Regional Lead for Cancer Predisposition Services in the Dublin and South East Health Region. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications and her research has been presented at national and international conferences.
