Professional Profile
Mr Patrick Murtagh holds a dual appointment as a consultant ophthalmologist at both St Vincent’s Hospital and the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital. He is skilled and comprehensively trained in all aspects of general ophthalmology, providing high-quality assessment and management for a wide range of common and complex eye conditions. He specialises in cataract surgery and the medical management of retinal disease, including age-related macular degeneration.
He is fellowship trained in ocular oncology, with expertise in the diagnosis and management of intra-ocular and ocular surface tumours, including uveal melanoma, choroidal and ciliary body tumours, and conjunctival malignancies.
Mr Murtagh aims to provide calm, clear and compassionate care, helping patients feel informed and supported at every stage of their treatment.
