Education and Experience
Jonathan Dodd, MB, is a Full Clinical Professor at University College Dublin and a Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist at St. Vincent's University and Private Hospitals. After completing medical training in Ireland, he pursued Thoracic and Cardiac Imaging fellowships in Vancouver, Canada (2005) with Professor Nestor Muller, and at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (2006) with Professor Tom Brady. Returning to Ireland in 2007, he became the Consultant Radiologist Lead for Thoracic and Cardiac Imaging at St. Vincent's University and Private Hospitals.
Professor Dodd serves as an associate editor for Radiology and the Quarterly Journal of Medicine, and is on the editorial board of Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging. He has been involved with the European Radiology Academic Board, the RSNA Chest Scientific Committee, the European Society of Cardiac Radiology Committee, and the CBCCT Certification Examination Board in the U.S. Currently, he is the Dissemination Committee Chair of the European Cardiac CT DISCHARGE Consortium. Additionally, he reviews for over 10 international imaging and medical journals and mentors new reviewers for Radiology.
He founded the Cardiovascular Subcommittee of the Faculty of Radiologists in Ireland and has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and 55 book chapters. Professor Dodd is also an active lecturer in the UCD School of Medicine’s undergraduate program and the postgraduate Fellowship program of the Faculty of Radiologists in Ireland
