Cardiology Assessment Unit
The Cardiology Assessment Unit at SVPH offers a GP only referral service for an urgent assessment of patients with the following:
- Non-acute Chest Pain
- Palpitations
- Cardiac Related Shortness of Breath
- Symptoms Suggestive of New Onset Heart Failure
- New Atrial Fibrillation
Results and Next Steps
Should any follow up or treatment be required, your consultant will discuss this with you when giving you your diagnostic results. If medical treatment (medications etc.), or a minimally invasive procedure (such as stents or angiogram) is required, your consultant will discuss these with you and will schedule a suitable date for your procedure in our Catheterisation Lab (Cath Lab).

- Please note: The minimum fee for the Emergency Department is €250 and the maximum fee is capped at €695 (**excluding CT & MRI Scans)
