Cath Lab Service

Our experienced multidisciplinary team includes; Consultant Cardiologists, Nurses, Cardiac Physiologists, Clinical Specialist Radiographers, Healthcare Assistants, and Admin Support. Our team ensures that our patients receive the most comprehensive and up-to-date diagnostic and treatment options tailored to their specific needs. 

When Attending Our Cath Lab Service

The Cath Lab and Cardiac Day Unit are located on the 2^nd Floor of St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. When attending our Cath Lab Service your Consultant Cardiologist’s secretary will contact you regarding your appointment.

Upon arrival to the hospital, you should first present to the Admissions Department located at the main entrance to the hospital. You will then be directed to the Cardiac Day Unit located on, the 2^nd Floor of St. Vincent’s Private Hospital.

On admission to the Cardiac Day Unit, you will be greeted by your nurse who will ask you some questions about your symptoms and medical history. Your nurse will then check your vital Signs (temperature, blood pressure, and pulse), weight, and height. An Electrocardiogram will also be performed in the Cardiology Department. It is important that you bring a list of your medications on the day. Your nurse will provide you with information and education regarding your procedure throughout your stay.

Finally, your doctor will sign a consent form with you before your procedure, this is a routine administrative requirement.

Cath Lab
Patients referred to the Cath Lab will be admitted under the care of a consultant cardiologist, who will perform any invasive diagnostic or interventional procedures.
