The Breast Imaging Service at St Vincent’s Private Hospital provides specialist breast imaging and diagnostic assessment for patients with breast symptoms, abnormal imaging findings and other clinical indications.
The service is delivered by a specialist multidisciplinary team, including Consultant Radiologists, Breast Surgeons, Mammographers and specialist Nurses, with expertise in breast care.
Depending on your referral and clinical needs, your appointment may be for screening mammography, diagnostic breast imaging, Triple Assessment Clinic (TAC) or MRI breast imaging.
Our service uses advanced digital mammography, including breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography) and ultrasound imaging to support the accurate assessment of breast conditions.
Please note you may be recalled for additional / follow up imaging.
This will be arranged by the team in the Maple Centre.
Breast Cancer Care
St Vincent’s Private Hospital is one of the eight National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP)-designated centres for the management of breast cancer.
Breast cancer care is delivered in accordance with relevant national and international clinical guidelines through a multidisciplinary approach. The team brings together specialist expertise to support diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing care.
Patients receive an individualised approach to their care, with management decisions informed by their diagnosis, clinical circumstances and the recommendations of the multidisciplinary team.
Transfer of Care from Another Hospital
If you have commenced your breast imaging in another centre e.g. have had your mammogram or ultrasound performed already elsewhere, we are unable to facilitate follow-up breast imaging unless there is an agreed transfer of your care to one of our Breast Surgeons. They would then assume responsibility for your ongoing management of further imaging, intervention or follow-up required.
